Become An Ambassador
The next generation of pastors needs someone to say, "I see in you what the Kingdom needs."
Will you be that someone?
Every Church has future pastors sitting in the pews. They just need someone to call them out.
Across our convention, the pastoral pipeline is drying up. Churches are closing, pulpits are going unfilled, and an entire generation of potential leaders is sitting in our pews without anyone saying, "I see something in you." Associational Mission Strategists and ministry leaders are uniquely positioned to change this—but the work requires boots on the ground in every geography.
That's why we're looking for Follow the Call Ambassadors—men who feel called to champion the vision of raising up ministry leaders in their communities, associations, and churches. Men who will encourage pastors to be intentional, walk alongside those wrestling with the call, and help ensure the next generation of shepherds is identified, developed, and sent.
Qualities of an Ambassador
Advocate
CHAMPION THE VISION OF RAISING UP THE NEXT GENERATION.
An Ambassador champions the vision of raising up the next generation of pastors and ministry leaders. He stirs conviction and ignites passion in the hearts of pastors, helping them see the urgency and joy of identifying and developing called men within their congregations.
Mentor
WALK CLOSELY WITH MEN WRESTLING WITH THE CALL.
An Ambassador walks closely with men wrestling with the call to ministry. He listens, guides, prays, and helps them discern God's leading with clarity and humility. His presence provides steady encouragement during one of the most formative seasons of a man's life.
Coach
EQUIP PASTORS TO BE INTENTIONAL IN RAISING UP LEADERS.
An Ambassador equips pastors to be intentional and strategic in raising up leaders. He offers practical tools, step-by-step guidance, and ongoing encouragement so pastors can confidently identify emerging leaders and shepherd them toward faithful ministry.
Seven Steps For Raising Up Ministry Leaders
As an Ambassador, you'll use this proven framework to guide pastors and ministry leaders through the process of identifying and developing called men.
-
It begins on your knees. Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers—and to open your eyes to the ones He has already placed around you.
-
You can't identify what you can't see. Place yourself in the lives of the men in your church and community. Be present. Be available. Be intentional about building relationships.
-
Look for men who demonstrate faithfulness, teachability, servant-heartedness, and a growing love for God's Word. Character precedes competence in Kingdom leadership.
-
Pour into the men you've identified. Share meals, study Scripture, ask deep questions, and listen carefully to their hearts. Investment is measured in presence, not programs.
-
Speak into their lives with clarity and courage. Tell them what you see—their gifts, their calling, their potential. Sometimes all it takes is one person saying, "I see something in you that the Kingdom needs."
-
Encourage them to take their calling to the Lord in earnest prayer. Walk beside them as they wrestle, discern, and seek God's will for their lives. Don't rush—be patient and prayerful.
-
Create opportunities for them to serve, lead, and test their calling in real ministry contexts. Connect them with seminary resources, other pastors, and the broader Follow the Call network.
